Simple question. I'm trialing various url/content filters at the moment and curious to which ones you rate the best. So far it's SurfControl coming out on top but also a bit more expensive.

Have you made a decision on this one yet? If you have not... SurfControl is a good product that I ran for 4 to 5 years at the school system I used to work for. It is a solid product and support was very good. My two cents worth. It really depends upon your environment and goals. You could also use Squid blacklist and tools found at ISAtools.org to help you put in place a low cost system. It is however involves more management overhead.

I've used Websense, and have been quite pleased it.

I'm using active wall. You can import some 3rd party blasklists to it by yourself.
