I have installed ISA2004 SP2 on windows 2003 SP2 and have set up all my rules ok and it works, my only problem is that it takes an age to login to the ISA 2004 server as a domain user.
I have seen some suggestions on here about external dns, but I do not specify that on my nics, only internal dns servers.
Could be any number of things causing your problem but without seeing specific information on your setup, Event logs, NIC’s, DNS, NetBIOS over TCP, System policy settings, etc.... It would be anybody’s guess to what is wrong. Please review the article below for setting up the Network interfaces for ISA just to be sure that you are properly configured.
Could you pls check that other machine on same domain is taking same as isa machine to log on as domain users. if yes then try following.
start-->run -->type drivers (enter) C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers this path will open. goto etc directory & open host file & add your domain name with ip address & save.
Pls restart the machine & check whether it is taking time or not...?
Example of Hosts file.
# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp. # # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows. # # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name. # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one # space. # # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol. # # For example: # # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
