I'm trying to publish an Exchange 2003 FE for SMTP, HTTPS and Active Sync Traffic. The Exchange server does not use the ISA server as it default gateway.

The SMTP and all other publishing did not work. I changes the SMTP Server publishing based on the article (http://www.isaserver.org/articles/2004troubleshootsmtp.html)  option 2

Configure the SMTP Server Publishing Rule to use the ISA firewall’s IP address as the client source IP address

Do you have any suggestions as to how to solve the HTTPS publishing?

Thanks for your assistance

Does it work when the ISA Firewall is the default gateway?

Does this ISA Firewall have three or four NICs in it? How many DMZ and internal interfaces are you using?

Tom

Hi tom,
Thanks for responding.
The ISA has 2 interfaces.

An internal interface and External interface.
The binding order is as follows:
    Internal then External
I can browse from the ISA https://fqdn of the exchange server.

The default gateway of the Exchange Server is the WAN router.
I have tried previously using the default gateway as the ISA server but the same error occurs.

Regards
Rishi

Hi Rishi,

Is the SMTP publishing working? Is HTTPS the only problem?

Tom

Hi Tom,

SMTP publishing is working in the existing configuration.
The HTTP publishing is not.

Rishi

Hi Rishi,

That indicates that the Public name tab has the wrong entry on it.

HTH,
Tom
