I was forced to build a new server with ISA 2006 due to hardware failure recently. I copied all the rules over from ISA2004 configuration as far as I can tell. The problem is that when our users try to access online radio or news the client pc's go through the motion but nothing is heard or seen. I cannot run the content either even though I have a rule for allow all applied to my user account. It woked fine on ISA 2004 - any ideas? I have configured protocols as far as I can tell to no avail.

I would appreciate help on this as my boss is moaning that he can't get Radio2!!!!!!

Regards

Hi,

Sorry for the delay. Have just built a new ISA 2006 server running on Windows 2003 - still getting the same issues. Which logs should I check?

Thanks

Hi,

Seems like it was something from their side and not yours.

Thanks for the follow up.

Tarek.

Hi again,

Been away for a week & nothing has been touched. It's not working again!! The feed is a bbc news feed (I have also tried various feeds with no success). When I check the logging it states the following:

Action: Denied
Rule: Admin Access (Allows uncontrolled access to all sites)
Client Username: Anonymous (Previous request in the log listed my username - domain\username)
Source: Internal
Destination: External
HTTP Method: GET
URL: http://wmlive-acl.bbc.co.uk/wms/news/news24_bb_s1 (this is the stream file)

Also when anyone tries to access a stream they get a username & password prompt for the proxy server - when it worked briefly this box did not come up. We are using basic authentication & no Firewall client.

Any ideas as my uers are now getting stroppy & asking me to find a solution or change from ISA (which I don't want to do)?

Thanks

Mike Taylor

Solved it today (I'm bald now!!!!) - Rebuilt the ISA server & still had the same problem. Then thought I'd try the Firewall Client - it works fine. Not a bad solution I suppose because only those who are permitted to have streaming will have the client installed (via GPO).

Still don't understand why it just stopped!?

Really? So it looks like I may have to start installing the FWC then. I was hoping to avoid that but I will start looking into it.

Cheers,

Have a good weekend.
