Hi All,

My Setup:

I got ISA2004 install in my LAN and only as a Proxyserver.
And got PIX 515 firewall with 2 web servers in the DMZ.

Inside the LAN  I got 1 citrix Server and Exchange Server

My Issues:

1. I need to backup these 2 Webservers through the PIX (100MB) but i need to backup 600GB (SQL DB) So very slow

2. OWA is not secure ( Only through PIX)

My Questions:

1. Setup ISA 2004 in DMZ  with 2 NIC's?

2. Put 2 web servers into LAN and publish through the ISA?

3. Publish Exchange?

4. Setup Proxy for LAN?

5. Use ISA 2006 for above task?

Please advice

1. Setup ISA 2004 in DMZ with 2 NIC's? Yes...definitely. I think Dr. Shinder has mentioned many times that 2 nics (in so many words) is the better configuration. Stick one leg in the dmz and one internal.

2. Put 2 web servers into LAN and publish through the ISA? Not a problem. I have done both web in pix dmz and published through ISA. It really depends on your security requirements and what your web servers will be used for.

3. Publish Exchange? Definitely... Personally wouldn't want this guy in the dmz.

4. Setup Proxy for LAN? Definitely... This is really not as difficult as you may think. You can manually configure your test workstation then deploy settings through WPAD and/or group policy.

5. Use ISA 2006 for above task? If you don't have a server already... Probably 2006 would future proof you for awhile.
