At present my organisation hosts ISA 2000 on our front end server. We now plan to move to ISA 2006 but on a separate server. Im not sure if exported rules from 2000 will be supported under 2006. Can anyone confirm or deny this for me please. I will be attending a weeks 2006 training course prior to the migration but could anyone recommend a good book that will help with the planning for the migration. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

There is no direct upgrade path from ISA Server 2000 to ISA Server 2006.

There was a migration tool for ISA 2004. You could use the 2000 to 2004 migration, then do an inplace upgrade from 2004 to 2006.

Here is an article that will show your the upgrade from ISA 2004 SE to ISA 2006 Se. : http://www.microsoft.com/technet/isa/2006/upgrade_guide_se.mspx

and here from 2004 ee to 2006 ee : http://www.microsoft.com/technet/isa/2006/upgrade_guide_ee.mspx

HTH,
Tarek

Building your IS 2006 from zero is much more better, upgrading path might be faced with lots of errors .
