Dear,

Computer Browser Service is for Netbios name resolution. If u disable in local host u are not able to browse your local network from the same machine.

Pls Check : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/188001

Regards,

Hi , Thank you for your reply, but i have already disabled it and rebooted my machine, and i can still ping and browse my LAN from the LocalHost machine.

do you have any other comment on this  ?

What other services also we can disable on the LocalHost machine ?

Guys,

You're not disabling “Netbios” all you’re doing is disabling the ISA local host from participating in the browser election process, say as becoming a “backup browser” in the event the “master browser” is not available.

If you do not want Netbios (why?) on the local host; disable it “System Policy” or unbind it on the adapter. (You should have done this for your external facing NIC! But probably not recommended for the internal NIC)
