Hi there, I have successfully managed to dstribute the firewall client using a GPO, and I have working aut-config script. However, there are some minor questions puzzling me. 1. Why on installing the client does it open automatically? Would that not alert my users to the fact I have installed it and that they can start to change the configuration? 2. If I click "Configure Now" on the Web Browser tab, if fills all the fields in the IE proxy section. What will happen if the client later roams to another network, or uses the computer at home - will it lead to conflicts? 3. What is the difference between clicking Detect Now on the Settings tab and Configure Now on the Web Browser tab? Thanks!

nice answer. but my main problem that when i install it i get message " client firewall is not instlalled correctly" and i enabled auto detect. when i set enable all settings are passed to internet explorere settings and then when i click disable settings are still there!!! so if i instruct user to disable it when he is out of office he still can't access internet and that's not logical. i enabled cache drive will that cause problems?

By Default, when the Firewall client detect it self out of the Network where ISA Server reside, it will reset procy setting to auto detect, and not proxy or auto configuration script will be set. So you do not need to insruct your users to disable the firewall client when they are out of your LAN, the firewall client will do the job by it self. HTH, Tarek

Dear Tarek, thanks alot for your answer. but as i stated, i enabled autodetect and i can autodetect ISA server and so on. but my mail problem is that i get a yellow exclaimation icon beside the client and a message saying " firewall client is not installed correctly". i found another article saying that i will find log file in installation directory for client but i didn't ind that log file to know where the problem lies. any recommendations?
