Hello,

We have some software that runs on IIS, and has it's own form-based authentication. I'd like to publish the website via SSL -and in addition to the form authentication it uses;  Would it be possible to pre-authenticate users via AD before they are directed to the login page of the published site?

The ISA server is a domain member.

Thanks in advance!

John

Hi John,

You won't be able to do this with ISA, but you can't customize the IAG 2007 to support this kind of setup.

Perhaps Tom meant "can customize"?  Otherwise it's a very curious sentence construction :)

Yes, it should read "can customize"

Tom,

I'm trying to do this exact scenario.  would it be possible to post to IAG's login page after the user is validated from my custom login auth page?  i've been searching the manuals but cannot find the parameters needed for the iag's login screen.  my page checks against AD as well so it mite be redundant.

You'll have to go into the Advanced Users Guide to get close to the information you need, and if that doesn't include it, then MS Professional services can help you get what you need, but the IAG will be able to do it.

HTH,
Tom

IAG is the best practice for this, it sounds like.

Last year my company did a custom filter for ISA that can perform this feature too.  I spoke to the IP owner and they said they'd be willing to re-license it to other companies.

So anyone who *can't* use IAG but still wants to do this can PM me if they want more info.

Your solution is certianly a lot more cost effective than an IAG!

Thanks!
Tom
