olddog -> secured socket connection port 58400 (26.Jul.2007 9:34:38 PM)

One of my clients running a SBS 2003 Premium server needs a connection to one of his venders on port 58400.  All the internal clients need to use the port. I have tried several different setting changes and none have worked.  I opened the filter, added protocol, etc.. I am wondering that you cannot set an ssl connection to a different port.
To access the web site the vender sent a email with a URL in it like below.

Can anyone give me a hand.

Sounds like you need to authorize that port as an ssl tunnel port.  Check out isatools.org I believe there is a useful script to help with that.

Thanks elmajdal,
But will it work with SBS 2003 Premium, the ISA server is 2000.
I read the readme it  states that the isatools are for ISA server 2004.

Thanks Again
OldDog

Hi,

The article is for ISA 2004, but the tools are also avialable under the ISA 2000  Tools, so they should work

check here : http://isatools.org/tools.asp?Context=ISA2000

The ISA tools will not run.  I am getting an error.

"com object eith clsid {XXX gives an ID #} is eather not valid or not registered."

It also will not show the 2 ports that are shown in the help.

have u ran the script ?

olddog -> RE: secured socket connection port 58400 (29.Jul.2007 9:46:57 PM)

Yes

Ran the Script.  Didn't work.  Uninstalled software ran script installed software. didn't work installed then ran script still didn't work.

Do I need to re boot server or  stop and restart a service.  Remember I am using SBS 2003 premium that has ISA 2000 in the package.  And I am using the gui version of the software.  I will try just the script.

Thanks for the help so far.

The script worked .

They are connecting to the website.  I'll let you know how it is doing when they get in tomorrow and can fully test the connection.

They also wanted a CISCO VPN connection to the head office.  I found several how  to(s)  on Microsoft TechNet and other help forums, but none of them worked.

Thank you very much,  Elmajdal

I be ordering your books.[:)]
