Hello,

Does anybody have any experience on running ISA Server 2006 using NLB on VMWare? And have experience using VMotion?

The problem a collegeau seems to have is that the virtual switch does not recognize the move to another host (ESX server).

Using NLB Multicast does not seem solve the issue.

Any information/thoughts are welcome!

Kind regards,

Never run the firewall in a VM in a production enviroment. The reason for this is that virtualization software is not security software, and therefore the virtualization software has the potential of exposing all virtual machines running in it. In order words, the virtualization software represents a large attack surface that hackers can take advantage of. Just check this month's security updates for MS Virtual Server. VMware will have the same problems and might even have them now (not all companies are as quick to admit security flaws as MS is).

HTH,
Tom

Sorry, I did not mention that the role of the ISA server is (Reverse) Proxy server.
