Example Open port 444/TCP.

Can someone help me out.

I sure will.  I have talked to quite a few people who have the problem, but no answers yet.  I am not sure it should be this complicated.

Hi,

  1. From the Left pane, make sure to click on the Firewall Policy Node
  2. Now From the right pane, under the Toolbox Tab , click on the Protocols Tab
  3. click on New > Protocol
  4. Give it a name, click next
  5. Click the New button
  6. Choose the protocol type ( for example TCP ), Choose Directtion ( Outbound for example ), in the port range enter the port u want to create ( for example from 444 to 444 )
  7. Click on Ok, Click on Next
  8. On the Secondary Connection, click Next
  9. Click Finish
  10. Any New Protocol that you create will be available under the User-Defined Container under the Protocols Tab

HTH,
Tarek

Great thanks.  I do have one questions though.  Am I missing a spot that just lists standard TCP?  I see a lot of different ports and in () it says TCP behind the name?

When I choose a protocol, there does not seem to be just a TCP option.  There are several options with (TCP) after the name?

Ok, I think I was looking for a predefined Protocol.  I have set up the new protocol, now I will need an access rule, correct?  I am still not connecting for some reason.  I appreciate all your help on this.

Hi,

Yes,

For any protocol you want to enable, you will need a rule to allow it pass thru ISA Server.

Allow > Protocols > From Source >To Destination > Users

Is there any way to mark the Protocol of incoming and outgoing, or do you need to set it up twice?

Basically, we have a program that we need to work.  In the help features of the program it states which ports need to be open.  Some outgoing, and some both.  I am trying to get it to work but have not been successful.  I think I am getting closer though.  You have been a great help.
