You'll need a dual WAN router in front of the ISA Firewall.

Dr. Tom,

The Dual WAN will combine ISPs into one line to the ISA Server which means just increasing the BW.

I want 3 ISP enter the ISA than each goes to its Internal LAN with the same ISA rules or different for each ISP? Can we do it?

Thanks!

All that depends on the WAN router you get.

ISA won't do policy based routing, however.

Tom

Dr. Tom,

If ISA wont do policy based routing so all Internal LAN looks one LAN to ISPs (Public)? As in the pix below if you put ISA firewall behind the WAN router so all we can do is just have ex. 2MB ISP as 6MB (3 ISPs) for the Internal LAN, RIGHT?

Ex., this WAN product:

PePLink Balance 300

Thanks!

Yes, as far as the ISA Firewall is concerned, there is a single default gateway which is the LAN interface of the multi-WAN router, and if the router supports bandwidth aggregation, then you'll get 2MBx3=6MBps.

Also, check to see if the multi-WAN router does policy based routing. Many do, and that why you can get the router to forward certain protocols over a specific link, or balance specific protocols over multiple links based on weightings.

Tom

According to the company sales support.

PePLink Balance supports "Custom Outbound Traffic Rules" which allows the traffic to be distributed across the specific WAN links based on the defined protocol. Also, its support bandwidth aggregation.

So:

1 - Whats the ISA firewall rule behind the multi-WAN router? Just to be a firewall for one Internal LAN because External LAN interface only connected to multi-WAN interface through one connection? Right?

2 - Why ISA not support multi-WAN ISPs for policy based routing to keep some people mouth shut [:)]?

Thanks!

1. Just configure the default gateway for the ISA Firewall to be the LAN interface of the multi-WAN router. No Firewall Rules required.

2. I wasn't at that meeting.

I believe because Windows Server itself ( 2000/2003 ) does not support Multiple Gateways !
