Firewall Client and Outlook - 15.Nov.2007 11:00:36 PM

Hi

We have the firewall clients installed and autoconfiged browser settings.  Web browsing works no problem but Outlook cannot download HTML based graphics - it just hangs.  ISA logs show no traffic from the client at all as the default route on the clients is not the ISA server.

If we remove the "Automatically detect settings" and maunally configure the proxy settings everything works fine, outlook and web browsing both work using the ISA server.

In the Firewall client settings outlook is set to "Disable 1". I think this is the default and would make sense - as I want outlook to use the IE proxy settings.

Has anybody any suggestions as to how to fix this?

regards

Hi

Thanks for the reply - I was afraid that this was going to be the solution.  The issue I have is that we have a 'web marshal' running as a plug into isa that listens on 8080.  This does all our web filtering and reporting.  If I make the changes you suggest wont Outlook use port 80 to the isa and ignore any proxy settings?  If it does this then it will bypass any filtering /virus scanning etc.  Or if we set it to 0 does it then pick up the proxy settings from the script and use port 8080?

Regards
