Status: offline 		Firewall service & Remote Access service crashed with this error:
Description: The Microsoft Firewall failed to log information to MSDE Database ISALOG_20071212_FWS_000 in path C:\Program Files\Microsoft ISA Server\ISALogs. The MSDE Error description is: Unspecified error
. The problem may be resolved by restarting the MSSQL$MSFW service.
The failure is due to error: Unspecified error

once I've started the Firewall service it everything is working

there are no other errors

any ideas?

Status: offline 		ok. I found this on a MS page (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/isa/2004/plan/tb_logging.mspx):

Error Accessing sp_batch_insert Procedure
Problem: The Firewall service may report an error accessing the sp_batch_insert procedure, causing the Firewall service to fail, thereby causing ISA Server to lock down. In this case, you will see the following event:
The Microsoft Firewall failed to log information to MSDE
Database ISALOG_20041217_FWS_001 in path D:\Program Files\Microsoft
ISA Server\ISALogs. The MSDE Error description is: Could not find
stored procedure 'sp_batch_insert'.. The problem may be resolved by
restarting the MSSQL$MSFW service.
Cause: This is caused because there are too many active logs.
Solution: Reduce the number of active logs being maintained by MSDE.

now, how do I reduce the number of active logs?

Try changing to text logging and then change right back to MSDE logging and see if that helps.

Status: offline 		Go to the logging tab in the Monitoring node and configure it there.
