charlieit -> Simple Ping Doesn't Work...Do you know why? (15.Jan.2008 2:31:58 PM)

Computer #1             ISA Server (LAN Adapter)
IP:  192.0.2.12/24     IP: 192.0.2.3
DNS:  192.0.2.8       DNS: 192.0.2.8
GW:  192.0.2.3         GW:  n/a

Computer #2:            ISA Server (Subnet 2 Adapter)
IP: 192.0.3.2/24       IP: 192.0.3.1/24
DNS:  192.0.2.8      DNS: n/a
GW: 192.0.3.1

                              ISA Server (WAN Adapter)
                              IP: 10.20.0.2/16
                              DNS: (n/a)
                              GW: 10.20.0.1

"Ping" is temporarily allowed from all Networks to All Networks (this isn't plugged into the Internet yet).

I created a "ROUTE" relationship between the LAN and the Second Subnet.

I can ping from Computer #1 to Computer #2.  But I can't ping (using IP address to take DNS out of the equation) from Computer #2 to Computer #1.  There is nothing in the logs that says "Denied" when I try pinging from #2 to #1.

Does anyone know why?

Thank you,

Charlie

Hi Charlie,

Are you actually using 192.0.x.x? Those are public addresses and if you mean to use private addresses, you should be using 192.168.x.x

HTH,
Tom

Sorry, I was being paranoid about giving out all this info on a public forum and I wasn't thinking when I changed addresses.  Let's say I am using 192.168.x.x.
