Is there any way or configuration or editing the browser error given by ISA server for the restricted websites instead of giving this error to client side.

Can i edit this as my own error msg?

hi tariq i still have problem on how to resolve client name instead of anonymous the true computer name. Client are connected in DHCP Proxy. I don't have a domain controller in my network. Is this posible to authenticate the user?

How many users are there in your network? It's impossible to authenticate your users without a domain controller. Try to locally authenticate your users on ISA.

Thanks -

Sure u can authenticate non domain users:

1- Web Proxy CLients : Set the proxy on the machines and then user will be asked for username and password once they try to have an outbound access.

2- Firewall client : Install the Firewall client software on the client machines, and then mirror the username and password of that machine on ISA Server itself.
for example.

you have a machine with a username Tarek and Passowrd Tarek12, then go to ISA Server and create a local username : Tarek with password Tarek12.

HTH,
Tarek

I don't want to put a DC in my network because i have 10 client which sometimes connected to deferent network from time to time.

tariq please correct me if im wrong and please give links for tutorial on how to set the proxy in the client machine to asked a password

here is the snap shot of how i configure the proxy client.

2- Firewall client : Install the Firewall client software on the client machines, and then mirror the username and password of that machine on ISA Server itself.
for example.

as of now i did not install firewall client on any one of the machine its purely secureNAT and proxy client.
Tariq if you have links also for the configuration of firewall client to mirror the username and password. Would rather choose this option i should installs Firewall client in every workstation.

Thank you
Doyek

Hi Doyek,

50 users are enough for you to use Active Directory to authenticate them. This will allow you to better control resources in your network!

To better understand authentication in ISA 2004/2006. Check the following articles:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/1/8/918ed2d3-71d0-40ed-8e6d-fd6eeb6cfa07/ts_rules.doc

and

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/isa/2006/authentication.mspx

Thanks -

Hi,

Install Active Directory on another machine. Installing ISA on a domain controller is not recommended at all.

Thanks -

hi roy nice to be back in here again asking for your help. Just now i finish setup my two machines server a for DHCP, DNS, ECHANGE Server, DC, and Radius and machine B for ISA firewall only. Now i made a choice that i don't want to include my ISA in a domain. Is this a right choice? Second question it is posible to see in the client user name even if it is not a member of the domain? And if posible how to do that?

For best security practices, I highly recommend you harden the windows infrastructure after you have completely installed ISA Server. I prefer to join ISA to your domain and lock it down using group policy.

To know more about widnows and ISA security check the following guides at:
