hi all

i want to publish a WinXP professional for Remote Desktop Access via ISA 2000 .i took below steps :

1-defined RDP port 3389 TCP inbound in Protocol Definitions
2-defined a Valid IP on ISA 2000 External interface
3-gave access for remote desktop for a domain user on WinXP professional PC.
4-defined Server Publishing rule on ISA server giving the Valid IP of ISA for External NIC & Invalid IP of WinXP professional PC NIC for Internal IP .
5-mapped server protocol was set to RDP (defined on stage 1)

i tried connecting via Remote Desktop Software & gave Valid IP of ISA .for username i tried giving the format : domainname\username & username but was not able to access Client & got the below error :

Remote Desktop Disconnected
This computer can't connect to the remote computer.
Try connecting again.if the problem continues, contact the owner of the remote computer or your network administrator.

What extra step should i take?

thanks in advance & good luck

This technet artciel should offer some assistance:

How to Server Publish a Terminal Server with ISA While also Running Terminal Services on the ISA Server - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/294720

I assume you've tested that you can 'remote desktop' to this internal XP machine from another internally connected workstation directly to the internal IP address? ie: Are you sure that you've added the appropriate account/s to the term services access group?
