I have an ftp server on the inside LAN that I trying to publish via ISA.

I am using the ISA server in a dual nic front firewall configuration.

The ISA is on the DMZ.

I can see with monitoring that my traffic from external is hitting the ISA, destined for the correct external virtual IP on the ISA server.

If I then monitor any ftp traffic to the internal IP I see no traffic.

I have tried numerous configurations of non web server publishing to try and redirect the traffic to the internal server without success.

I can ftp to the server from ISA itself so there are no firewall issues.

I have scoured google etc without any luck.

It is almost that my ISA can't see the destination IP from the publishing rule?

I have limited experience with ISA but have set up about 6 web sites so far c/w RSA authentication so I understand the basic concepts.

I read in forums etc that it is a simple non web server publishing rukle, but simple to everyone maybe but not me!

Any help would be appreciated

Did you try opening up both ports 20 and 21?
