CipherX -> Another Strange ISA Problem. (24.Apr.2008 2:41:59 AM)

Hi All

Okay, we use a very basic "Proxy Configuration Script" which contains server settings and a couple of URL exceptions.

The problem is that when accessing some URL's with "Use Automatic Configuration Script" enabled in the browser, users credentials are not passed to the ISA server, but when you manually configure the browsers Proxy settings using the same values users credentials are passed to the ISA server.

Any ideas

is this the way you configured to use the automatic configuration script ??

the article tells u step by step what you should do so that users would be able to use the automatic configuration script

Okay, users get the auto configuration script fine and for the most part is works, the problem is that for some URL's the browser does not pass user credentials to ISA for access authentication and yet when the values of the auto configuration script (server name, port and exceptions) are manually configured the users credentials are passed to ISA and authenticated.

It appears that the browser (IE6 and IE7) uses different rules for passing user credentials to ISA depending on how the proxy setting are obtained.
