schiffer -> Apple Software Update behind ISA 2004 SBS (9.May2008 9:28:01 AM)

I'm not sure this it the correct forum, but here it goes.

I use a ISA 2004 server as our internet gateway appliance. I have two MACs on our network, and neither of them can use Apple's Software Update feature through the ISA appliance. The Software Update connects and registers which updates are available, but then when the users click on download the download times out - actually it never starts.

I'm a novice with ISA 2004, so any steps would be appreciated.

Set these Mac machines as SecureNet clients,  that is to set their default gateway to point to ISA Server Internal IP.

On ISA Server, create a rule for these machines with the condition ALL Users

Thank you, but could you write out those instructions step by step? I'm a complete novice with ISA Server. How do I set up the MACs as SecureNet clients?

I've checked, and my MAC does have the internal IP of the ISA server set as its gateway. I've tried setting the MAC as DHCP and as a static IP with rules on the ISA server to no avail.

If anyone can help me I'd really like to get Software Update to run through the ISA server. Doing manual downloads via browser just isn't as efficient.

Thanks
