Hi.

I have a TSG running. Published remote application are working fine from the company site. I would like to give users access from the internet.

How is this done? When I try to connect from the internet through ISA 2006 I can logon to the website. When I try to start an application I'm ask for credentials for the gateway server and application server.

The gateway server has a public DNS name, but the application doesn't. So I get the message: "The server could not be contacted". I thought that when connecting through a gateway server, there would be no need for public addresses for the application servers?

Anyone has a tsg/remote app/ISA setup running?

Thank you...

Jakob

Hi Jake,

You can't pre-authenticate when publishing the TSG. So make sure that you haven't force authentication at the listener or the Web Publishing Rule.

Hi Tom

Thank you.

I didn't knew that. Beside some DNS issues (must look into that later) I can start remote appl. when allowing all users access.

There's no way to pre-auth. when using TSG?

Hope to see an article on this subject soon :o)

Unfortunately, we can't pre-auth at the ISA Firewall for TMG. There are some architectural issues with the client that make this unworkable. Hopefully in the future we'll be able to do this.

Thanks

What I like about ISA is the pre-auth feature.
So what would be the an acceptable secure way to publish remoteapps through ISA?

You can use SSL to SSL bridging, but you can force authentication at the Web listener and the rule must apply to All Users.
