paulo.oliveira -> Importing Access Rules not work (2.Jun.2008 11:13:29 AM)

Hi,

Iīm having a problem to modify a deny access rule. Hereīs the problem:
I want to remove some sites from my deny access rule, I have exported the rule and edited using wordpad.
I removed the websites that I want to and imported the .xml back to my deny rule, but it didnīt worked, the website is still blocked! [:-]
When I export the rule to see whatīs wrong, the website that I just removed is still in there!

Can anyone tell me whatīs going on?

I have an ISA 2006 SE with supp. pack running on a windows 2003 sp2.

Regards.

Hi Paulo,

Make the changes in the ISA Firewall console instead of editing the text file. That's why they make a GUI that's had thousands of hours of testing.

Hi Tom,

thanks for this info. [8|] But, in my case I have a hundreds of sites in my black list, splited in different categories. So, if I just use ISA management console it will take too long to find out what I want. [&o]

Hi Paulo,

Ah, I see.

Did you remove the old list and import the new one?

Thanks!
Tom

Hi Tom,

no, I did not. I just exported the actual list to a .xml file, modified the exported .xml file and imported again to ISA.
For example, I removed 01 website from the .xml. But, when a import this .xml file back to ISA, it stills there! [:'(]

Maybe it didn't overwrite the existing information?

Hi,

I thought it so too. I just needed confirmation. But I think this is the "problem". In fact theres nothing saying "overwrite".

Thanks for your help!

Unlike when you import the whole machine policy.

I'll have to check up on this!

Thanks!
Tom
