Dear Friends, I have some problem in my ISA server 2004 Std Edition Service Pack 3. Currenlty Microsoft Data Engine and Microsoft Firewall service is stopped due to unknown reason. When try to restart MS Firewall service then a message appears "The service could not be started". Kindly suggest some useful solution in this regard. Imran Malik

did this start to happen after you installed SP3 ?

It was running fine with SP3 installed. I am going to elaborate this problem for your convenience so that you would be able to give me the best solution... I have UPS which is connected to my Domain Controller plus ISA Server. there is a timer in the UPS so that we can shutdown or restart servers by setting the scheduling time. UPS turns Off at 7pm daily and turns On at 8am. Today when I reach office and switch my KVM to isa server, I saw a message that one driver or service is failed during startup..........I just press Ok and login...... I am ISA server 2004 Std Edition from last 2 years and never face this kind of problem regarding service failure.... Wating for ur reply abt the above problem. Imran Malik

Can you manually start the service? Could be that there was a delay. HTH, Tom
