Hello Everybody, I'm having a bit of confussion here! When configuring wpad.dat in DHCP which is the exact port to configure for clients to find the ISA Server? is it port 80 or 8080? Please can anyone help out..... I read the book (ISA Server Configuration guide) and it states the default configuration is http://ISAServer name: 80/wpad.dat, now my college said we should use port 8080 in place of port 80, now i'm confused!! Please help out.........

The default port that WPAD is published on is 80, the proxy listens on 8080. They are different processes. If you look at the network properties, AutoDiscovery tab, you can see the port it's published on.

It is 80,...not 8080.
The DNS "method" for WPAD will only work on 80 anyway,...that has nothing to do with ISA itself and cannot be changed,...so keep ISA using 80 for Autodetection so that it stays in "agreement" with the limitations of the DNS method for using WPAD.
