I have device (internet streaming radio) that has a fixed IP address and I want the device to only access the internet during selected periods due to the way I’m charged for my broadband usage.
I’ve created an access rule to deny access to the device to all networks all protocols, and created a custom schedule that is active between 8am to 12pm. ie only allow access between midnight and 8am.
[:)] If the device starts up in the restricted period it fails to connect and ISA monitoring shows that my rule is being triggered as required, this is good.
[:)] If the device starts up in the allowed period it connects and works correctly, this is good.
[:(] But my problem is this, the device will come on at 6am which it does and connects successfully, at 8am I want ISA server to block access, this is not working. It appears that if the device connects during the allowed period ISA server either does not recheck after 8am as the device continues, ie once a successful connection is made it is not rechecked.
Am I missing something, is there a workaround?
