bicky -> Setup ISA server for Wireless LAN (4.Jul.2008 10:51:44 AM)

Hi,
Currently i have Wired LAN as follows:

bt business broadband
|
Netgear ADSL Wireless Router (currently we r not using wireless function)
|
Win2003 - ISA2006
|
Switches/Hubs
|
All PCs+Server 2003(domain controller)+Laptops

All the PCs+Server+Laptops are connected via wire to the switches. These all PCs+Server+Laptops internet are authenticated via ISA server and they are using WinProxy.

These Laptops has built in Wireless card. I would like to use these laptops with wireless rather than wired for internet/lan. And i want them to be authenticated by ISA server as like wired connection. What do i need to do? Do i buy wireless card for ISA aswell? How are the connection/settings done.

You can't with this arrangment. The wireless device is on the wrong side of the ISA.

If you want to have wireless devices on the LAN, buy a Wireless Access Point (WAP),...not a "router" and place it anywhere on the Internal LAN that get a good signal propagation and go with it.

The only thing the wireless aspect does is replace the physical "cables",...it does nothing else,..it is not a "network" of its own.
