Good evening, I want to mount a NLB ISA2006 to have maximum performance if fall of the server. This is only giving access to the Internet, there will be no published service.
I have only two servers, although I have read that would be recommended 3, one for l CSS and the other for the ISA, but did not give more budget. I have 2 servers configured with Windows 2003 Std SP2, with all Updates a day. Copied on both servers and the i386 folder ISA2006EE + SP1. 3 red cards each. One for the External Network (192.168.x.x), another for IntraArray (10.1.xx) and another pair to the internal network (10.30.xx) These servers are not in Domain, but in Workgroup.
Here you have to help me .... How should I proceed?. a / install the ISA in the first server includes CSS?. b / install only the CSS in the first server? c / As IntraArray make a connection?.
I have read a lot com domain and in doing so with 3 servers, but nothing on this option, that's why I'm asking bracket.

In workgroup mode, you can only have one CSS so there is no point in thinking about "do I need two, and where do they go".
If you only have two servers, the CSS will have to go on one of them, doesn't really mater which to be honest.
I still use Intra-array networks in all my Enterprise installations. Although it isn't strictly necessary anymore since Windows 2003 SP1 I think it still recommended by Microsoft.
Cheers
JJ

Workgroup mode provides no CSS redundancy (as you can only have one CSS) which is why I often avoid it. If you move to domain joined array members model, you can then have multiple CSS servers to provide redundancy.
