Hello all,

I was hoping somebody could give me some advice?

I have two ISA2006 EE servers in different offices (obviously different subnets), each has two NICs available and are running windows 2003 SP2.

These servers are only being used for basic forward proxy / cache with one or two rules for application traffic, (running in "Back Firewall" mode) and are located in the internal network. I am only running a few machines with the firewall client whilst most are using "automatically detect settings" and WPAD.

What I have been asked to do is ensure they are highly available i.e. automatically fail-over in the case of a disaster, which sounds easy BUT, they want all traffic to go via only one of the servers on a daily basis (the only time the second server would be used is if the first one failed).

Any suggestions on the best way to do this?

If you want to use a cold standby, just mirror the configuration of the live server on the other server, then turn on the other server when the firewall you're using goes down.
