Hi Sandy,

Glad it has been resolved.
Thanks for posting back

Any ideas what the maximum server name might be?
By coincidence a Microsoft KB article of it?

Interesting! Was it that the FQDN was too long, or just the host name portion?

Actually the fqdn was too long and according to microsoft it should not exceed 15 characters because of which when we were trying to add secondary server to css, the server was not able to locate it.

15 must refer to the hostname (computer name) portion, not the FQDN as I have quite a few customers with CSS FQDNs of 20+ chars.

I think 15 chars has always been a NetBIOS restriction IIRC.

Actually you are right. It was the netbios name of the server and not the FQDN.
