I am running ISA 2006 SP1 EE on Windows Server 2003 E.

I am wondering if anyone is experiencing the same issue I am.
Whenever I start downloading a file through the web browser that is more than 300MB in size the download stops at around 300MB completed and never downloads the whole file. I've been testing this with opensuse.org. I am trying to DL the opensuse11 iso. This also happens with files from other websites.

The only time I've seen it successfully download a file was when I dled a microsoft image off of the volume licensing website using the microsoft download manager.

There are currently no policies denying the permission to DL files in any way.

How is your bandwidth? Anything showing in ISA log?

My bandwidth is great when downloading this file. I usually get speeds around 1.5 mb/s.

Which logs do you suggest I look into?

I've looked into those.

Nothing alarming shows up in the system or application logs and when I watch what is does on the ISA logging tool I get what is listed below. This may look kind of mashed up but if you can read it, there is one entry that caught my attention. I've highlighted it.

192.168.0.2 is one of my cache adapters.

These appearred in the log right after the download failed.

Well, seeing a lot of access denied on the web proxy filter and it looks like your using Firefox.

How are you requiring authentication? In the access rule itself or on the Web Proxy listener by “requiring all users to authenticate?

Are you using the ISA firewall client?

No firewall client.

I am using firefox because when I attempt to download the file using internet explorer it says that IE cannot handle downloads as large as 4GB. I am using the web proxy listener "require all users to authenticate".

That's probably what’s hanging you up. It’s not recommended to use that option for authentication. You should force authentication through your access rules. I assume your configuring Web proxy access for FireFox. Loading the Firewall client will also eliminate the problem.

I tried using the firewall client and I still wasen't able to download the file. I also changed the authentication not to force users to authenticate on the web proxy. I defined, on the access rule, to only allow authenticated users access to the outside. This still did not allow me to download the file.

I also noticed that once I changed the authentication type and I started monitoring the web proxy sessions, no user names showed up in the monitor. All of the users were listed as "anonymous".
