Hi

I have to change my ISA server to another server. I would like to know the best way to migrate from one to another.

This new server will have a different IP

The best solution would be to export the old config and export it in a new installation of ISA Server?

Thanks

Yep, import and then amend rules/listeners.

Cheers

I had to do this recently and it was perhaps the worst experience I have ever had with a Microsoft product.........

I was slightly different in that i didnt move physical servers but just re-ip'd

There were a few gotchas that caught me out when i was re-iping.

1. It was slightly easier to re-ip when the CSS was locally installed for the array.
2. NLB caused issues with IP addresses. Microsoft provide a script to reset NLB back to factory.

3. It was quite difficult to re-ip a server in the DMZ (workgroup) with the CSS installed in our internal domain. Reconfigure the new IP's in the CSS first, making sure to update the managed ISA server IP's.and then uninstall ISA firewall services and reinstalled - pointing to the CSS server with the new configuration. I also had to run the NLB script before reinstalling ISA.

I still actually have a problem where i cannot get the 2nd array member functional in our DMZ array but that is in another post :)

Good luck with your upgrade and hope all goes well.
