Hi there

I have a requirement to for a client server to be able to connect to an external web site using http: and port 4080.  The data is encrypted using AS2.

When the client tries to make the connection I get the following error:

Failed Connection attempt
Log Type:  Web Proxy (Forward)
Status:1460  The operation returned because  the timeout period expired.
Rule:  Access to the world
Source:  Internal (x.x.x.x)  there's a real IP address here!
Destination:  External y.y.y.y:4080
Request:  POST http://y.y.y.y:4080/adirectory/anotherdirectory

If we put a sniffer on the network, the http header (not encrypted) arrives, but the payload (encrypted) does not.

How can I configure ISA server to allow encrypted data on http port 4080?

Encrypted data via http port 80 works fine.

I have extended the tunnel port range to include port 4080, but this does not help.  Port 4080 is open in the firewall element of ISA.

I am using ISA 2006 standard on Windows Server 2003 SP2 standard.

Many thanks in advance.

Jean

How did you manage to open a port? Ports do not get opened...

You mean you created an access rule to allow 4080 from the internal server to the external server?

Hi Steve

Yes, as you say I created an access rule to allow TCP Port 4080 from internal to external.

Are you able to help?

Best regards

Jean

That site will need to be configured for Direct Access (not DirectAccess).

Tom
