I have a piece of monitoring software running on the ISA server machine.

The monitoring software does WMI calls to machines on the internal network using the following ports.

135
445
UDP 5000-6000

So I need some help configuring a rule that allows WMI to go out on these ports to pull data back to the ISA machine.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

create access rules on ISA firewall as following:

From: Local Host
To: Internal
Protocol: RPC; Microsoft CIFS; UDP 5000-6000

Note: create a custom protocol for UDP 5000-6000

Regards,
Paulo Oliveira.

Just to clarify a little

You will need:

RPC (All interfaces)
Microsoft CIFS (TCP), but may also need Microsoft CIFS (UDP)

Also make sure that your custom protocol is defined as 'Outbound'

Cheers

JJ

I currently have rule setup to allow all outbound from the ISA to the local network.

I will modify the rules accordingly and let you know how it works.

Thanks for the quick reply :)
