I keep a few weeks of ISA logs. They have to be in the w3c format, not MSDE.

Now that I have the logs, what is the best way to query them?

If they were MSDE, I could just use a normal Monitoring query from within the ISA Management console but that doesn't work.

Is there a nice way I can view/query the logs without having to get into messy import processes with excel since there is too much data to put in one spreadsheet?

Maybe a way to import them into a SQL db?

Kinda lost here.

Hi,

do you want to generate reports for these logs or just analyze them?

Regards,
Paulo Oliveira.

In addition to the other suggestions, the Microsoft Log Parser is another tool to consider - http://bit.ly/kpa9. Of course Notepad and Ctrl+F would work too.

You might also want to consider logging to a remote SQL server. From there you can analyze the data to your heart's content using whatever data analysis tool you wish.

They are 2+ gb log files. Notepad doesn't work, and I haven't been able to find a working link to download big text viewer.
