Hi all,

I have installed Single ISA server2006 in my Envoirnment with Single ISP. I want to make my Envoirnment Redundant & Seemless. Is it possible to make Backup ISA server2006/TMG?
If Primary ISA server will down then Backup ISA server will automatically UP. If possible then what is the configuration of ISA servers and client side.

Hi,

it is possible with ISA EE + NLB in a supported way.

These links may be useful: http://blog.msfirewall.org.uk/2008/10/resource-guide-for-using-microsoft-nlb.html

http://blog.msfirewall.org.uk/2008/08/enabling-nlb-multicast-mode-on-isa.html

It is also possible with two ISA SE in a non-supported way using DNS round-robin. Thereīs an article on this site, but I couldnīt find it right-now...

Regards,
Paulo Oliveira.

You can also use ISA SE and define a backup route in the autoconfiguration file, this backup route can be a second ISA Server.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc723404.aspx

The best solution is to use ISA EE as suggested by Paulo, but this is quite expensive and will involved additional considerations...

Cheers

JJ
