Hi,
I have a clean install of Forefront TMG installed. I have 2 networks configured, internal and dmz. A computer in internal has ALL Access to dmz however i cannot RDP or access a cifs share on the server, logs show it is trying to connect then errors with:

A connection was closed because no SYN/ACK reply was received from the server.

With an Isa 2006 box this same rule works fine .We are also having some odd problems with dns requests via the same box. It is a Dell PowerEdge 2800 with Intel Pro/1000 MT NIC's. An help would be grateful

Do you have a Route or NAT relationship between the Internal Network and DMZ?

Sorry its a route relationship. We have tried this serveral times around 4 reinstalls.

Has anyone had success with these nic's? Or does anyone recommend another nic? Does anyone have any preference to which OS to use: e.g if to use R2?

OK, if there is a route relationship, the problem might be a routing issue? What's the default gateway on the RDP host?

Hi Tom,
The Gateways point to the relative Nics in the forefront server
e.g
Internal: 192.168.1.1

DMZ:192.168.3.1

I have however just installed Forefront on a esxi box, with exactly the same config and it has worked. So it must be a hardware issue.

I'm currently getting the exact same issue with an installation or Forefront 2010. Again it all virtual but stil not joy.

That makes sense - if the same configuration works in one place but not the other, it sounds like you had the firewall configuration right from the start.
