zeebaluch -> ISA Server Internet Problem (21.Nov.2010 2:16:10 AM)

Hi everyone, I have a Workgroup enviroment and have around 30 Clients in my office. I have deployed ISA Server 2006 and configured as edge firewall and also configured as DNS cache. My network IPs configuration are below... In addition I'm using TP-Link Dual WAN Router and my ISA box directly plugged on to in.

ISA External Interface:
IP:192.168.1.2
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
DG: 192.168.1.1
DNS: 192.168.1.1

ISA Internal Interface:
172.1.1.1
255.255.0.0
DG: 0.0.0.0
DNS: 172.1.1.1

My all clients asre configured as Secure Nat client all have them default gateway defined. The problem is some of my clients infact all of them have internet issue like in "Twitter, HTTPS websites and etc etc" but when I plug them directly to router then theirs internet working perfectly fine. Please help me on this issue. Should I install DNS on isa server? As I don't have any DNS running on my network! Should I point our External DNS address on my Internal Interface? Please help me on this I'm really really confused

Hi,

the best practices says you have to configure DNS server only on one interface, generally, internal interface. In this case, you could configure DNS servers only on your external interface.

Since you donŽt have any internal dns server, it makes no sense you configure one on internal interface. [:)]

Can you please describe little more? Should I leave blank DNS server on Internal Interface of ISA Server? If yes then what DNS Server should I enter on my client machine? Please tell me the steps I'd be really thankful to you
