Hi Frineds,

I am getting the below marked error on ISA server (Two Node with NLB on Edge based firewal).

Please help me to analyse the impact & the workaround you guys might have faced & solved with the supervision of Microsoft KB article.

Event ID: 14079

Description:
Due to an unexpected error, the service fwsrv stopped responding to all requests. Stop the service or the corresponding process if it does not respond, and then start it again. Check for related error messages.

Hi,

do you have a AV software, backup client software or 3rd-party add-ons installed on ISA machine?

How frequent does the error happens?

Yes i do have. Net backup Client used for Backup & Symante Endpoint Protection is being used for Virus protection. I had not noticed anything before. The server is running since last 2 yrs & first time this happened with the error code.

The NLB service was restarted. The suspected symptom is Cache, i beleave. I just want dig out the exact cause & its solution.

make sure you've applied these recommendations for using AV on ISA/TMG firewall: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/cc707727.aspx

And this regarding backup agents:

Is there any other relevant event on Windows logs?

Hi,

Is your ISA server connected to a domain Server? if so just remove the ISA server from domain and join it again. by doing this i have solved my problem. We were also facing the same issue since long and this error was appearing twice a day.
