Routed HTTP does not cache - 14.Feb.2011 12:33:22 PM

Hello

I have a Routed Internal Network (ISA behind ISA) so that clients behind the ISA accessing internal webservers(outside the ISA) connect directly with their client IP.

The traffic mainly is HTTP - so I have a Custom protocol called MYHTTP configured for port 80 through which the traffic passes and I have denied the same traffic on HTTP which has webproxy bound.

Everything works fine as expected however I am unable to cache this HTTP aka MTHTTP traffic on the ISA - how do i get around this . I do not want to use the webproxyfilter because it NATs on the ISA's Ip.

Thanks
Roger

Hi Roger,

without using web proxy filter, you canīt benefit from cache.

Hi,

if this is intended to access a restricted set of websites, you can create a cache rule for caching the contents,

Thanks Paul

I did try ur suggestion already i.e Traffic allowed thru MYHTTP without webproxy and set a cache rule explicitly to the internal site
The logs show the connections being successful thru the firewall service but the cache status is always 0x0 . From what i decipher - the cache will work only thru the webproxy filter ...but I was hoping there was a workaround for this.

Would you by any chance know if the latest TMG behave similarly or different given the same circumstance ?

Thanks a bunch

Roger

Hi Roger,

I guess TMG behaviour is the same.

Regards,
Paulo Oliveira.
