Hi ,

We started using wpad.dat for proxy autodiscovery.. wpad.dat is not hosted in ISA server its hosted in another server running IIS. We have webmarshal proxy installed on our isa sever. If I visit any proxy bypass site - the request still goes to ISA server (it by passes webmarshal fine) it doesnt go directly to internet..

any help will be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
ameyuk

Hi Ameyuk,

have you configured these sites for Direct Access on ISA firewall?

May I ask why you do not want to use Auto Discovery of ISA firewall?

Regards,
Paulo Oliveira.

hi paulo,

Do i need to add these sites ( i.e. Internal Properties --> web browser --> add directly access these servers or domains) , in wpad.dat it specifies to go direct not to isa.. Does all the request go to ISA?

If I use wpad.dat do i not need to use auto discovery of ISA firewall?

thank you
ameyuk

Do you mean there is another path to internet? If so, then it could be a problem with your wpad.dat file.

Paulo Oliveira.

Hi,

ISA will handle all the web proxy connections using web proxy filter. To bypass the filter, you must use Direct Access.

Paulo Oliveira.
