Dears,
i have got a very strange problem in isa 2004.
i have a 1 MB internet work with me since 5 years very good and the speed is good ,downloading with 125 kbps,then i upgraded my speed to 4MB now on the same server ,same router and every thing is the same. put now the internet is very slow and the download speed is 55 kbps ,so i connect my laptop direct to the modem and i got the full speed ,downloading with 550 kbps and every thing is fine.
and i have tried another connection with 2MB speed it gaves me the same bad performance but download with 25 kbps !!!!!!!!

only connection with one MB is good with the isa server!!!

i had noticed that after restarting the connection or disableing then enabling the NIC then immediate download any thing it will be very fast but after about 40 seconds the rate will be very very bad.!!!!!!
i know this is strange put please i need ur help.

thanks for help,
i have already configured the mtu discovery but it does not make any diffrence.
and as i told u that the same isa ,same configuration ,same router and same isp working fine with 1 MB but with 4 MB is very slow.

Have you checked the Interface for FCS/CRC errors to the switch or router? Possibly it's a RSS issue? Wierd that it works ok with your 1MB but it does sounds like a MTU issue.

Hi,

are your NICs configured properly on ISA firewall?

Have you run ISABPA to look for common misconfigurations?

Is the DNS server you�re using reliable?

yesterday i installed isa sp2 then sp3 then i installed windows 2003 sp2 and oops the download is 440 kbps but some services did not start and can not be started like
The ISASTGCTRL service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s).
and if i tried to start it it gaves me the same result .
second i can not remove windows sp2 and i can not install it again i got error message that some files are not found ??
third isa server management could not connect to the conf server niether from the server it self nor from another mangement pc.????
so i could not change any thing in the server.

so please help me how to remove the sp2 or to reinstall it again .

itried this throw safe mode also but the same result ,and i tried last known good configuration but nothing changes.
so please help me to remove windows sp2 or repair it or install it again.

im sure that windows sp2 is the problem because i installed it at last after isa sp3 was working great .

Hi,

the best is you start from scratch. Follow below steps for a successful installation:

1- Backup ISA firewall configuration;
2- Install Windows 2003;
3- Update Windows 2003 with the latest patches, fixes and SPs;
4- Join Windows 2003 to domain;
5- Install ISA firewall software;
6- Update ISA firewall with the latest patches, fixes and SPs;
7- Restore ISA firewall configuration.
