We're trying to restrict access to streaming video.

We have an extensive set of rules in our ISA 2006 configuration. A series of publication rules, then a series of access rules.

What I want to do is create an access rule at the top of our access rule list that denies access to the following content types -

video/x-flv
video/mp4
video/x-ms-asf

I created a rule that is:

Deny
All Outbound traffic
From Internal
To External
All Users except Allow Video group
Always
Selected content types - Streaming Video content type set.
The streaming video content type contains the above content types.

When I enable this rule, it blocks all http access to any site no matter what the content type is.

What am I missing?

Block the streaming protocols, then block the content type.

i have no problem waiting for it finish what it is doing, or was it a bad idea from the start to add a big wide ranges of addresses and that will make the system always using high resources ????
