Hi,

I installed and configured ISA server with one NIC card. I configured this for webproxy. It was working fine, but i need to configure proxy IP address in web browsers(Group policy). But it didnt work for Mozila firefox.
my infra is like below

internet --> ASA ---> Switch --> Hosts

This configuration my ISA is in inside of the LAN.

But i want to configure the following

1) No internet connectivity for host if proxy IP is not configured.

2) VPN

So i have the following questions

1) Do i need to add two NIC card in server

2) Do i need to place ISA in betwwen ASA and Switch

3) Do i need to configure a different subnet for the 2nd NIC card.

Please reply

Thanks and regards
Vipin

Hi,

Regarding Firefox with GPO, check this thread : Firexfox issue...

regarding your queries :

1) Do i need to add two NIC card in server
2) Do i need to place ISA in betwwen ASA and Switch
3) Do i need to configure a different subnet for the 2nd NIC card.

You can keep your setup as it is, just intrusct ASA not to allow Outbound access for any machine, only traffic coming from ISA Server itself.

In this way, any user who does not have his Browser configured with ISA Server as a Proxy, will not be able to surf the internet.

have your asa fw configured to only accept webproxy traffic comming from ISA. that way no secureNat clients (non proxy congured ones) will gain (direct) internet access.
