My company is running ISA 2006 as a proxy server. When downloading PDF files from our company website (which is hosted externally) the size of the downloaded file is only a few hundred bytes and nowhere near the size of the original. When trying to open the downloaded file Abode throws up "There was an error opening this object. The root object was missing or invalid"

If we bypass the proxy server and go directly through the gateway we can download the files at the correct size and they open ok. We've used a number of different browsers and are seeing the same thing in each case.

We can download PDFs from any other website while going through the proxy and it works ok, its just PDFs from our own website that are problematic.

We have an ISA 2006 server and TMG MBE in 2 other remote sites, both configured as proxy servers only, and have the exact same issues with both of them too.

I've monitored the logs while downloading a PDF from our website and all seems fine. The relevant rule is being triggered and nothing is being blocked. I've also created a rule to allow all traffic from internal to external, placed at the top of the list, and that didn't work.

The only difference I can spot is the client agent and cache info is different when downloading from the company website compared to downloading from others but I don't know if this is the cause.

PDF from our website -

PDF from HP website -

I'm currently thinking it's either something in the proxy configuration or maybe something with the website that's causing the problem to manifest when going through a proxy server but have no idea which.

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers
