ISA DNS question - external NIC - 11.Jul.2012 11:08:05 AM

I'm going to use ISA 2006 SP1 with an IP address (etc.) on the external NIC provided dynamically by the DHCP of my ISP.

In Dr. Tom Shinder's "ISA Server 2006 Migration Guide", I read, on page 135 that no DNS server address should be entered on the external NIC.

But if I am receiving DNS settings from the ISP, how could I prevent that?

Note: if I select manual settings for DNS in TCP/IP properties of the external NIC, I have to enter something.

Also, does the server hosting ISA need to be connected to the Internet for installation?

I'm concerned that connecting it to the Internet before (B4) installing ISA would be a security risk (no firewall).

Thanks in advance!
