Saiko -> Isa 2006 upgrade (22.Nov.2013 1:55:05 AM)

Hello. I have Isa 2006 5.0.5723.514, but i don't see Isa 2006 SP1 item in Add or removing programm. So '5.0.5723.514' was published later then SP1, but does this hotfix include SP1?
If it is not, can i install SP1 without deleting '5.0.5723.514'?

Hi,

according to ISA 2004, ISA 2006 and TMG Server 2010 Version Numbers

For sure you have SP1, but the one who have installed ISA Server might have used a SP1 file embedded with the ISA Server 2006 setup file.

ISA Server 2006 SP1 introduction the below new features, so if you have the below features, then you have SP1 installed.
ISA Server 2006 Service Pack 1: New features and enhancements

one last note, you can't install this security update if you dont have SP1.

Hi RazorBlade,
If you need a new firewall, UAG isn't really the right option for you. UAG is a remote access gateway and DirectAccess server, that you can put on the edge because TMG is installed on it, but the firewall on the UAG server is to protect the UAG server itself and the network behind it. It won't enable any outbound access at all. For that, you might want to consider TMG - which is a network firewall that you can configure for inbound and outbound access - but TMG is not a very good option for DirectAccess. [:o]
