I am experiencing a problem that has been duplicated from our test environment (ISA 2004 STD running OWA publishing with SSL bridging) and our production environment (ISA 2004 EE) where the server eventually stops responing with a number of failed services, logging, fw service, corrupted event logs and a bunch of memory errors. It seems to be a performance related issue/memory leak.
I suspect that some of the 3rd party products we use may be at fault, McAffee Viruscan 8.0 and BMC Patrol for monitoring.
Has anyone come across official documentation that on how to consigure virus software for ISA 2004. I asked McAfee support but they reacted as if this was a regular Windows box and did not have any in depth knowledge on ISA.
The problem always begins with this event which may be a result of a memory condition:
Event Type: Error Event Source: Userenv Event Category: None Event ID: 1058 Date: 7/26/2005 Time: 4:55:59 PM User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Computer: NMRFLIISAE2 Description: Windows cannot access the file gpt.ini for GPO CN={31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9},CN=Policies,CN=System,DC=nmrlan,DC=net.
