Hello all -

One of my clients has an ISA Server 2004 in Single Network Adapter configuration (it is basically just a proxy server...no, I am not thrilled with the config but let' s not get in to that whole discussion "[Wink]" )

It is configured to use a WSUS server for updates but with the ISA services started it always fails. Here is the log-

Now, we have configured the ISA server to use the WSUS server as described here - http://thelazyadmin.com/index.php?/archives/53-Allowing-ISA-2004-to-Use-SUSWUSWSUS.html

For troubleshooting, I even allowed all protocols to/from all networks (including local host) and tried a wsusclnt /detectnow and it still failed. Yet I immediately stop ISA services, try another wsusclnt /detectnow and all is fine.

So, I do not think it is not a firewall policy issue, so what could it be?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

as nicolas_b said, but use proxycfg via command prompt to set the proxy to your isa server, (local address/port) worked for me
