Tobzter -> Yahoo works on some computers (17.Aug.2001 9:44:00 PM)

I have a problem with msn messenger, yahoo messenger and FTP working on half my network. These programs work on some computers without proxy settings and on others, they do not work at all. Please help!

All of the clients are behind a firewall and are configured to use a Web Proxy. This includes those that are working and those that aren't. They are running IE 5.5 SP2 as well as the latest MSN Messenger version, 3.6. I can't speak to the Yahoo settings, but they should be similar to those for Messenger.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

you may have to install the firewall client or do some creative client sets to allow them to be secure NAT clients.

Do the ones that work have there gateway set as the ISA server?

Below is what one guy did to make it work

eric watkins recomended....
you just need to create the protocol definition for yahoo messenger, it uses TCP port 5050
